CHANGING OUR VISION

Think about it.

"We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are."
"Growing will change our vision."

The lecturer's words wowed me with their simple wisdom. If we want to change the world around us, we have to change. Change begins with our thoughts...Our thoughts form the words, which form the deed, which form the habit, which form our character...and consequently -in this cycle-our character becomes the source of our thoughts...So we must be consistently sure, that our first thought...is driven by Love and service to others.

Our thoughts are the engine that drive everything-full circle. It's estimated that every human being has hundreds of thousands of thoughts every single day...so that's one powerful engine!

Clearly, thoughtless thinking leads to tearful tragedies...Taking a daily personal inventory...practice, practice, practice-may not make us perfect...but it will lead to progress...spiritual progress -which leads to an enlightened character, which illuminates our thoughts, inspiring kinder words, heartfelt deeds and good habits that reflect a strong, moral character driven by loving thoughts.

How's that for a mind twister?! But really...Let your thoughts carry you to a heightened spiritual understanding and I think...yes my first thought-is that the world you live in will appear quite different than it looks right now...In fact I think you will see things as they are -because of who you've become. And I believe that what you see-will wow you with a wonderful snapshot of the divine...and the way the world was meant to be--simply because growing really does change our vision!

HRUSHIV UKRAINE: APPARITIONS OF THE BLESSED MOTHER

Twenty four years ago today, April 27, 1987 the Blessed Mother allegedly appeared in Hrushiv Ukraine with a warning and words of consolation. She came on the Feast of the Ascension, exactly one year after the nuclear reactor disaster at Chernobyl saying "Do not forget those who have died...Chernobyl is a reminder and a sign for the whole world." As we sat in silence, meditating...I nudged my friend Terri, "What do we have to complain about?!" I whispered. There he hung, pain stricken, vulnerable in his nakedness, sharp thorns cutting into his head, pleading eyes fixed on the heavens. What I thought, on God's green earth, do I have to complain about?! That's probably why they do it...place the life like crucifix dead center-above the altar, just above the Blessed Sacrament, right where you can't miss it...just to remind us-things could be worse, but they're destined to get better-if we keep our eyes focused-on the solution. Another friend-likes to remind me-he's not on the cross anymore...So why do we keep him there?
