ONE YEAR AND COUNTING!

What a difference a year makes!
365 days, one day at a time...the clock keeps ticking...and time always tells.
Tick tock, the clock never stops...

We grow up...or we just grow old...we give it up or we just get down...we let go...or we lose control...Nothing ventured, nothing gained...try as we may...we can't hold on to the worthless habits-without hurting ourselves...


Who would have predicted--who would have thought...that worn out welcomes could be renewed and refreshed and even seem normal again? That's the power of God...getting things straight, writing straight with crooked lines-just long enough to create a miraculous masterpiece.


The spirit is always flowing...even when we are floundering...The spirit is ready to sweep away the bitter wreckage...and wipe away the powerful pain. Only a fool fails the lesson over and over again...because-there is always hope and happiness and a holiday waiting to happen!


At our home-the most unexpected guests have shown up...and stayed awhile...lingering to talk or watch a movie or help with a chore. Faces from the past that fell from grace-but felt renewed in the spirit -that is now flowing like a river-in our home.


Our door is cracked open just enough to welcome the long lost wanderer--our hearts are healed enough to herald a new beginning. It takes time and patience and perseverance...but anything is possible...and nothing is impossible...if we are ready--and willing...and wanting-what God wants.

God always wins...and so do we- if we follow his way--every single day-Like clockwork-follow God...and God will follow you--Count on it-now...and 365 days from now!

HRUSHIV UKRAINE: APPARITIONS OF THE BLESSED MOTHER

Twenty four years ago today, April 27, 1987 the Blessed Mother allegedly appeared in Hrushiv Ukraine with a warning and words of consolation. She came on the Feast of the Ascension, exactly one year after the nuclear reactor disaster at Chernobyl saying "Do not forget those who have died...Chernobyl is a reminder and a sign for the whole world." In 1990 while producing a television documentary in Ukraine, I visited Hrushi and interviewed a handful of people who had witnessed the apparition above the church of the Holy Trinity. In all, some five hundred thousand witnesses claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary over a four month period. As we sat in silence, meditating...I nudged my friend Terri, "What do we have to complain about?!" I whispered. There he hung, pain stricken, vulnerable in his nakedness, sharp thorns cutting into his head, pleading eyes fixed on the heavens. What I thought, on God's green earth, do I have to complain about?! That's probably why they do it...place the life like crucifix dead center-above the altar, just above the Blessed Sacrament, right where you can't miss it...just to remind us-things could be worse, but they're destined to get better-if we keep our eyes focused-on the solution. Another friend-likes to remind me-he's not on the cross anymore...So why do we keep him there? Every one's got an opinion, but to tell you the truth, I need to be reminded of the sacrifice...and every painful moment in between.
