GO FORWARD!

It's easy to go backward. But it's better to go forward. Turning back-in the direction we came from... feels safe, feels secure, feels familiar. But nothing we've ever done, needs to be repeated.
The past is complete.

Closure feels oddly funny. Feels like we're losing a part of ourselves. Looking forward- feels like we're letting go. We are. We are letting go-of the pain and the problems, the punishment and the imperfections. We are giving up that part of the past that jailed us like prisoners. We are seeing ourselves in a new light. Allowing ourselves to grow and prosper...to turn our tragedies into triumphs, our disappointments into divine gifts of growth.

Reforming ourselves gets us ready for the right path...the next fork in the road...the one less traveled. The direction we take is limited by the temptation to turn ever so slightly around...to ponder from whence we came and where we may be going. So it is important to stay focused..in the now...to not stray...from the straight and narrow path...to push onward and forward...to the next best decision...following our lead from within.


It takes concentration...daily practice...to surrender our lives to the spirit that guides us ever so gracefully through the mountains and valleys of life...It takes time to slow the pace...from the hustle and bustle of this world...to the gentle whisperings of the next...It takes a big person to become like a child, wide eyed and open- to the whims of the world beyond...when the world we live in is pulling us apart.


So it is on the wings of faith...lifted by the spirit of wonder -that we soar to new heights, toward the heavens-to the impossible dream--and the unlimited possibilities.

The best we can be- begins by working from the inside out...improving ourselves --losing the lazy, hazy feeling that keeps us comfortable in our old shoes...even when they're worn out.

Looking backward, is a luxury-that most everyone can do without-Looking forward...is the leverage that we could all use...to get to the place and the position that God intended, from the moment of our conception.

So let go-let God....and let the fun begin! Try it--you may like it!

HRUSHIV UKRAINE: APPARITIONS OF THE BLESSED MOTHER

Twenty four years ago today, April 27, 1987 the Blessed Mother allegedly appeared in Hrushiv Ukraine with a warning and words of consolation. She came on the Feast of the Ascension, exactly one year after the nuclear reactor disaster at Chernobyl saying "Do not forget those who have died...Chernobyl is a reminder and a sign for the whole world." As we sat in silence, meditating...I nudged my friend Terri, "What do we have to complain about?!" I whispered. There he hung, pain stricken, vulnerable in his nakedness, sharp thorns cutting into his head, pleading eyes fixed on the heavens. What I thought, on God's green earth, do I have to complain about?! That's probably why they do it...place the life like crucifix dead center-above the altar, just above the Blessed Sacrament, right where you can't miss it...just to remind us-things could be worse, but they're destined to get better-if we keep our eyes focused-on the solution. Another friend-likes to remind me-he's not on the cross anymore...So why do we keep him there? Every one's got an opinion, but to tell you the truth, I need to be reminded of the sacrifice...and every painful moment in between.
