LOUISIANA LAWMAKERS PRAYING TO GOD!

The Louisiana Legislature is turning to God.

61 days into the worst natural disaster in history and lawmakers have declared today, June 20 a day of prayer to ask for Divine intervention.

Two months of trying human technology has failed to cap the leak, or contain the oil, or stop the huge concentration of methane gas from being released...So today, our elected officials passed a resolution calling for prayer in whatever form citizens feel comfortable.

Sometimes when we are too big for our britches, when we think we are so smart that we have all the answers, when our human sinfulness has blocked us from seeing the answer to our problems...Sometimes someone comes along and offers the one solution that everyone has somehow overlooked. Prayer.

You see prayer can move mountains. It can also clean up this mess in the Gulf. Calling on God, who by the way, created the universe and seems to have not only the brains but the brawn, seems like the natural solution.

During one of the Blessed Mother's apparitions in Medjugorje, she said that payer could stop or avoid wars. Imagine that! I'll just bet that if everyone takes the prayer resolution seriously...and if all good people everywhere will just spend a few minutes in prayer each day, the Gulf and the rest of the nation will be spared further damage.

With God all things are possible! All we have to do is ask.

HRUSHIV UKRAINE: APPARITIONS OF THE BLESSED MOTHER

Twenty four years ago today, April 27, 1987 the Blessed Mother allegedly appeared in Hrushiv Ukraine with a warning and words of consolation. As we sat in silence, meditating...I nudged my friend Terri, "What do we have to complain about?!" I whispered. There he hung, pain stricken, vulnerable in his nakedness, sharp thorns cutting into his head, pleading eyes fixed on the heavens. What I thought, on God's green earth, do I have to complain about?!
