UKRAINE: HAUNTING HISTORY
Why should we care about what is happening in Ukraine?! Because when evil meets up with indifference, human beings are savagely murdered.
In 1991 I traveled to Russia and Ukraine and produced a documentary on the fall of communism and the rise of the faithful. I will share with you just a few examples of why Ukrainians are fighting so hard to keep their independence and freedom.
My video tells the haunting history of Ukraine under Russian communism. I saw with my own eyes the results of unfathomable persecution and murder of innocent human life.
I interviewed a former KGB prisoner who described a living hell inside the prison walls. He said at night the shrill cries were almost more than he could bear. Prisoners were not only tortured, they were mutilated...Women had their breasts cut off and a priest had been crucified on the wall, his stomach ripped open and a dead baby placed inside.
Behind another KGB prison our cameras captured an insidious secret that had literally been buried for years. A mass grave had been dug open and countless bones and skulls had been excavated...These human remains were stacked in piles all around the open pit...and the forensic scientist examining the bones told me the victims were clearly young people because the teeth were fully intact.
Weeping mothers, fathers and other relatives whose children and loved ones had gone missing...told us they believed their children were murdered because they refused to deny their faith.
I watched as a statue of Stalin was torn down and I was told that the foundation had been laid with the desecrated tombstones of Jews and Christians....I could go on and on and on...
We should care deeply about what is happening in Ukraine...We should pray incessantly for the liberation of this beautiful country...and yes...I personally believe that America should help these innocent citizens from the evil force that is carefully, craftily pursuing its next victim.
Evil has eternity to sit and wait and plot and pillage...No one is safe...but with God...and good people, we shall overcome!
